Ogni giorno, almeno uno di loro si schianta per la strada, abbandonando sull’asfalto grigio della seconda città più trafficata del mondo il sogno di un avvenire migliore. Gli automobilisti li definiscono delinquenti, drogati, assassini. Ma &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;i&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: arial;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(192, 192, 192);"&gt;Motoboy&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/i&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span lang="IT" style=""&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: arial;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(192, 192, 192);"&gt; è un deciso passo avanti nella loro ricerca di un documentario che abbia il coraggio di sentirsi cinema, rinnegando con forza quello stile medio e “asettico” imposto dall’attuale regime catodico. Il motocinema dei due autori attraversa le categorie e i generi, tra analisi socio-economica, sperimentazione linguistica, docu-finzione, interviste compresse in poche fulminanti battute, primi piani da reportage e sovrimpressioni da videoclip. E una frase di Ratinho rimarca questo tema: “La gente ha preso il vizio di dire ‘è urgente’ anche quando non lo è.” L’assuefazione alla fretta, ad un ritmo convulso che aiuta a percepire il mondo più brioso e gradevole. Il motoboy insegue gli ordini degli altri, il denaro e il potere degli altri, di chi resta in casa e non si azzarderebbe mai a calcare di persona certe zone malfamate. Una giostra ininterrotta per spostare merce che non si possiederà mai, fino a trasformare in merce anche se stessi, caschi scuri impersonali e anonimi. “Sembra che sia sempre lo stesso motoboy”, afferma uno degli intervistati. “Repliche, cloni… Uno degli elementi della contemporaneità è proprio la molteplicità dell’ignoto, del vuoto.” Uno, nessuno, trecentomila. E nella sequenza in cui Ratinho si aggira tra la folla alla ricerca della motocicletta perduta, è impossibile non pensare a &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;i&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: arial;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(192, 192, 192);"&gt;Ladri di biciclette&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/i&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span lang="IT" style=""&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: arial;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(192, 192, 192);"&gt; e alle immagini grondanti realtà di De Sica e di tutto il neorealismo. Numa cidade grande, de imenso volume de tráfego, esperar que um mero office-boy entregue seus papéis valiosos utilizando-se do ônibus é, no mínimo, um tratado de boas intenções. O uso de automóveis é ainda mais anti-produtivo, dado que todas as faixas de trânsito estarão, indubitavelmente, ocupadas nos horários de pico – ou, como presenciamos atualmente, em quase todos os horários. Quem então teria o poder de entregar seu serviço de modo infalível? Ever-present and unavoidable, both praised and reviled, they serve as a barometer of dramatic changes in Brazil's largest city. To further contextualize the cultural, political and social significance of the films, and analyze them within the development of a global economy, two panel discussions will gather visiting and international scholars as well as film professionals, such as Ernesto Semán, Alejandro Pelayo, Cristina Venegas, Mariana Luzzi, Gustavo Noriega, Martín Plot Randal Johnson and James Wiltgen. The first panel will focus on the growth of mega-cities, such as São Paulo, Mexico City, within the framework of globalization.
